RTDA Annual Convention Is Starting
Saturday July 15, 2006
As previously reported, The Retail Tobacco Dealers of America's Annual Convention and Trade Show is happening in Las Vegas during July 17 through July 19, 2006. This is the time when cigar manufacturers unveil their new cigars and accessories. Some new products have already been announced, with more to be unveiled in the days ahead. Just a few of the prior announcements included new cigars and/or accessories from:
Another new item that we are excited about is CAO's short film entitled "Seed to Soul", which is a documentary about the entire cigar making process. According to CAO Vice President Tim Ozgener, "…our intent was to go behind-the-scenes and capture what’s involved in the making of a great cigar." The film was directed and produced by veteran filmmaker Lynn Bennett, and will be available on DVD at select retail tobacconists as a part of the CAO Conmemorativo Sampler, and on CAO's website.
In my opinion, a film about cigars is long overdue, and I can hardly wait to get my hands on the DVD. Can you remember what Sideways did for the wine industry? Cigar movies could be the next big thing. Life is good.

Gary,
I’m a lot older than you so I may have some information that you may not be aware of.
About 20-25 years ago JR Cigars, when it operated out of Jersey and started their expansion in the south came out with a tape about cigars, how they were made, type of tobacco used, etc. I may still have that tape. Rothman did a great job on the explanation of the cigar manufacture and industry,
