- Stanford J. Newman, Chairman of the J.C. Newman Cigar Company, passed away on August 17, 2006, at the age of 90.
- The Thompson Cigar Company is having a Cigar Artisans event on September 30, 2006, at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa, Florida.
- The Tungurahua volcano, which erupted last week in Ecuador, destroyed tens of thousands of acres of pasture and crops in the area. Ashes also covered tobacco plants grown in the region, which are used to make cigar wrappers.
- Photos taken by the folks at Famous Smoke, at the RTDA trade show in Las Vegas last month, are now available on CigarAdvisor.com.
- On Thursday, September 7, 2006, Camacho Cigars will team up with 1050 ESPN Radio to host Guys Night Out - NFL Kickoff & Cocktails Party, at John Allan's Club in Tribeca, NY.
- Information about new software for tracking and managing your cigar collection has been posted to our cigar forum by the manufacturer. The software is now available to download for free, at your own risk.
