Cigar Mancations

By September 15, 2006

There has been a lot of talk about the upward trend in "mancations", upscale vacations for men that include hand rolled cigars and other amenities. A new Regent South Beach hotel will be opening next month in Miami Beach to further exploit that market. Although cigars have always been a part of the carefree lifestyle of the rich and famous, cigars are also an affordable luxury that can be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of social and/or financial status. For me, lighting up a fine cigar has always been like taking a mini vacation. While I am smoking a cigar, I escape from the reality of daily life, and am not available to solve the world's problems (at least until after I finish my cigar). By all means, smoke cigars and enjoy life while on vacation. But if you can't go on a mancation every week, try taking a cigarcation instead.

Here is a Costa Rica Sport Fishing Package – a “Mancation” – that includes a trip to a cigar workshop. Guests can watch as Cuban Leaf Cigars are rolled in front of them by Cubans.

It’s as close to the real deal as possible without pissing off the feds. And the girs are cute too.
