A New Padron Alternative Cigar

Wednesday December 20, 2006
Cigar alternatives are inexpensive cigars that are supposed to taste almost the same as more expensive brand name cigars. JR Cigar is probably the biggest retailer of cigar alternatives, but they are not the only player in that market. TNT Cigars just introduced their own Padron Anniversary Alternatives, which are now selling for as low as $15 for a package of five, including free shipping. This is a boxed pressed medium–to-full bodied cigar that is made in Nicaragua. If you get a chance to try the Toro Natural or Maduro, please write your comments about those cigars in the "comments", below. Please feel free to post your own opinions about any other alternative cigars in our Cigar Forum.

(2) Cigar Guy says:

TNT Cigars makes these cigars. Many cigar retailers have their own unique blends and make their own house brands.

I had JR padron alt, and I had a sore throat for 2 days. my doc told me that it’s a chemical in the cigar…. Im a bit scared to try the TNT brand too. I heard that they make them in china. If this is true, I would be smoking my first chinese cigar. Not many china based companys out thier.

Please be serious when you reveiw the TNT Padron Alternatives. Your comments doesn’t help people who want to get a detailed review of this cigar.
It would be nice if someone serious in here can give us a review on the Padron Anniversary Alternatives that TNT sells.

(13) Tony says:

This Padron is not a bad alt, but it is a cigar for those that understand what Medium-Full Bodied means. This cigar can also do with a little aging before trying. TNT’s Kick Ass Sweet – Baccarat Alt will shock the hell out of you. Everyone I know who has tried these are stunned!
The price and quality ration is astounding! A Great Mild Smoke!

I’m smoking a TNT Padron Anny alt right now. It’s the last of the bundle of 20 I purchased. Having never smoked a real Padron Anny before, I can’t compare, but I can say that I’ve enjoyed all but one of these sticks. I have smoked several Padron 3000 and 6000 in the maduro, and love them. While this cigar is not in that class, it is still a good quality made stick that has a very good aroma and taste.

It would be nice to have somebody post a full review of the JR alt IMO.
