Cigars and Vegas

Joel Cabras of Casa Fuente, 2007 © Gary Manelski Licensed to About.com, Inc. I just returned from Cigar Aficionado's Big Smoke in Las Vegas, and will be sharing my experiences from that mega cigar event in a couple of days. In the mean time, the Big Smoke was not the only place where I enjoyed cigars while visiting Sin City. Casa Fuente is one of the most renown cigar bars in the U.S., and is a required stop for any cigar smoker who comes to Las Vegas. Located in the Forum Shops at Caesar's, Casa Fuente is one of the few public places (besides the gaming areas of casinos) where you can still enjoy a cigar indoors within the city of Las Vegas. Instead of writing more about this very special place, I decided to share my impromptu interview with Joel Cabras (pictured) of Casa Fuente. To listen to the unedited audio, Microsoft's free windows media player must be installed on your computer. Enjoy!

(1) Al Levitt says:

First of all, The Forum Shops are NOT within the City of Las Vegas. (Unincorporated County). Secondly, almost every bar (that does not serve food) is usually smokers allowed, many also cigar friendly.

It really doesn’t matter if the shops are in LV or not, since the smoking ban was adopted by the State of Nevada. Other establishments that do not serve food may also be exempt, but how many classy places like that exist on the Strip?
