Cuban Cigars and JFK
Friday November 14, 2008
On November 22, 1963, the United States lost its 35th President in Dallas, Texas. In a few days, it will be 45 years since President Kennedy was assassinated in Dealey Plaza, but the circumstances surrounding his death are, for the most part, still a mystery. However, there is no longer a mystery surrounding JFK's love for Cuban cigars. Thanks to some inside information provided by Dick DiMeola, retired Chief Operating Officer of the old Consolidated Cigar Company, you can now read the true story about President Kennedy sending one of his aides to purchase 1,200 Petit Upmanns before signing the Cuban Trade Embargo back in 1962. Read about JFK and cigars, and even watch a video.
