Exile Wired Cigars
Monday November 17, 2008
A few months ago, we announced the release of the new Exile Wired Cigars, an extension of the Exile line of cigars from Cuban Imports, Inc. Exile Wired has been getting some attention lately, thanks to a favorable rating in Cigar Aficionado. I had the pleasure of sampling an Exile Wired torpedo last Friday evening, while watching the Space Shuttle Endeavour streak through the Florida sky into outer space. What an experience that was, and seeing the shuttle wasn't half-bad, either!
Anyway, Al Argenti of Cuban Imports was kind enough to provide me with a few samples. I found the Exile Wired torpedo to be a mild-to-medium smoke, yet very rich and very smooth. The cigar left no bad aftertaste, and was very well constructed. The draw was excellent and the burn even. However, in my opinion, what makes this cigar unique is how mellow it tastes. The cigar uses a special Criollo wrapper, which is rapidly becoming my favorite type of wrapper leaf. To name just two other examples, the CAO Criollo and Te Amo World Selection Series – Nicaragua Blend, also use Criollo wrappers.
I think the Exile Wired would be a great cigar for beginners, while also appealing to more seasoned smokers. The cigars are now becoming available online, but should be more readily available at tobacconists by the end of the month.

I was wondering if you have tried the regular exile as well? I had the Perfection no. 1 and really enjoyed it and was going to buy a box. The wired is a lot cheaper online and was wondering if it tasted close to the same?
I haven’t tried the regular Exile, which is supposed to be fuller than Exile Wired.
