Electronic Cigars

Tuesday July 14, 2009
The new 007 Electronic Cigar is one cigar that will not be reviewed on this web site. Since we do not even review artificially flavored cigars, there is no reason to review an artificial cigar. However, as with flavored cigars, we can still talk about "cigars" that we do not review.

A few years ago, electronic cigarettes from China hit the market as an alternative to tobacco cigarettes, for the apparent purpose of helping smokers kick the habit. Since cigar smokers do not (or should not) inhale, and are not addicted (for the most part) to cigars, there is little reason for a cigar smoker to buy an electronic cigar. I can see only two reasons for cigarette smokers to consider such a product: 1) To get a nicotine fix in non-smoking areas; and 2) To wean yourself off cigarettes with a larger electronic cigar (as opposed to a smaller electronic cigarette). If you can think of more reasons, please post to comments, below.

Quit Smoking Cigarettes

Gary,
You are 100% correct. An E-Cigar is useless. If you ask me, it was obviously developed by someone that knows nothing about cigars and cigar smokers and was probably asking himself, “I wonder why no one has made an E-Cigar! I will make a million dollars if I do!”

WRONG! As you’ve stated, cigars are not nearly as addicting and harmful as their cigarette counter-parts. An E-Cigar is really pointless.

Besides, who would want to quit smoking cigars? :-)

I’m addicted to nicotine, which I happily satisfy with cigars and pipes. When I can’t smoke, I chew nicotine gum. When I won’t be able to smoke for a prolonged period, I apply a nicotine patch. Sometimes I use Snus. If I could afford an electronic cigar, I would use that too. Of course, when I’m free to choose, my choice is obvious: a good cigar, followed by a simmering bowl of pipe tobacco.

I too agree with you Gary I do not see a reason for this. If it tasted just as good as my cigars and I could smoke it anywhere maybe but I doubt it would taste good. I enjoy my cigars but I am not addicted to them, I rather wait till I can relax and take my time. I do love to smoke while driving I don’t get stressed that way from the traffic.
