Lt. Col. Mitch Fadem Smokes an Egg

Cigars For Troops in Afghanistan

Well, I smoked 'The Egg' tonight (Maduro, Drew Estate). I only smoked it 2/3's of the way down and had to give up. Inserts are a couple of funny photos.

From Lt. Col. Mitch Fadem:

I leave on my next mission next week. The large photo is me in the desert at a gas well. 'The Egg' was not bad until the ring gauge went up to the widest part and then I just got light headed and dizzy. You can't really smoke this one at 6500 ft above sea level. (Click on picture to enlarge)

More Cigars for Troops Updates from Mitch Fadem:

Jay Bulmash just sent us another two boxes of cigars, which brings the total of cigars he has sent us to over 500. It is really great that folks support us in this way. We also just got a cigar shipment from Col Giles Light, USAFR Retired. I sent thank you emails to both of them.

I just got 250 cigars from Paul Puntnek, Waco, TX. These will also be going to the FOBs. B Gen Baczkowski is very greatful to all the folks that are thinking of the troops out here and is going to be writing a few thank you notes.

We also got some cigars from Finck Cigar Co this week. I was surprisingly impressed with their machine made long fill 'Texas Gold' brand cigars. This was a slightly rough looking cigar with a golden Ecuadoran sun-grown wrapper, Connecticut broadleaf binder and a blend of Nicaraguan and Peruvian tobaccos. The draw was excellent, the burn was even and the flavors were nice mild coco-coffee-nutty like and a good aroma as well. This is an incredible value at $1.25 a stick when you buy them by the bundle. It has now replaced the Flor-de-Oliva as my favorite 'cheap' cigar.
